How it works

One person opens kutuverse.com and creates a room. Everyone else joins by scanning the QR code or opening the link — on a phone, a tablet or a laptop, whatever they already have. Nobody makes an account, nobody downloads anything, and the game runs directly between your devices rather than on a company's server.

Short of players? Add computer players to fill the table, or play the whole thing on one device and pass it round.

How to play Pitchforks

Goal

Somewhere in the village, Howlers hide among ordinary folk. The village wins by banishing every Howler; the Howlers win once they are as many as everyone else.

Night

Everyone picks someone on their phone. The Howlers choose a victim together, the Nosy Neighbour peeks, the Night Nurse protects, and everyone else names who they suspect — so nobody can be read by who is busy tapping. Then the Potion Granny sees the victim and may use her potions.

Day

The night's dead are revealed. Talk (voice chat is perfect for this), accuse, claim roles — truthfully or not — and vote. The player with the most votes is banished; a tie, or ‘spare everyone’ doing as well, spares everybody.

Roles

Tips

Anyone can claim anything. Watch who defends whom, who changes their vote late, and where the whispers point. The dead must stay quiet!

One shared device?

Add local seats in the lobby. The device keeps everything hidden until a player taps ‘I'm … — show me’, and hides it again once they have acted.
